Project will rebid but no definite date yet.** The Borough of Phoenixville is upgrading the High Service Pumps at the Borough of Phoenixville Water Treatment Plant (WTP) with new motors and new VFD controls. In general, this project includes, but is not limited to, selective demolition, removal of existing motors, installation of new motors, installation of new motor controls, and electrical work ancillary to the project. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 9/28/2022 2:00 PM Bidders are required to provide Bid Security in an amount equal to 10% of the total amount bid. Bid Security may be provided in the form of a certified check or a bid bond issued by a Surety Company licensed to transact such business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Upon award of a contract, the Successful Bidder shall provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the awarded contract value. Upon completion of the contract, the Successful Bidder shall provide a 2-year Maintenance Bond in the amount of 100% of the final contract value. Bidders are required to comply with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of 1961, P.L. 987, No. 442, where the project cost is $25,000 or above for public work. 1. This project includes a single prime contract for all the work described herein which will be awarded to a single prime contractor based on the combined amount of the base bid and any alternate bids that are awarded. The Borough of Phoenixville may choose to award the base bid alone or together with any of the alternate bids, depending on funding availability and the best interests of the Borough of Phoenixville. 2. The major items of work described herein are intended to be inclusive of all work necessary for completion. The contractor shall provide all equipment, labor and materials necessary to complete the entire project, including any items or tasks which are not specifically mentioned, but which are necessary to complete the work in accordance with applicable codes (e.g. Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code, National Electrical Code, etc.) and the standard practice of the profession. 3. The dimensions and quantities of work indicated on the project plans and specifications are approximate. No adjustment to the contract amount will be made for minor deviations from the dimensions and quantities of work indicated on the project plans, specifications and bid form. In general, minor deviations are those within 10% of the planned work dimensions and quantities. 4. The work shall be completed in two phases as to allow one to system to continue to run while the other is being replaced.
