Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in League City, Texas. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a recreation facility; playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

This project will fund further improvements to the Dr. Ned and Faye Dudney Clear Creek Nature Center (the Nature Center): a trail extension, an elevated viewing stand, existing bird blind improvements to deal with aging features and to add shade and more seclusion from birds, nature interpretive signage both for the recently restored coastal prairie acreage and for other areas and for a living shoreline within the Nature Center. The project may be partially funded via a Texas General Land Office Coastal Management Program (CMP) grant that may use the value of city-owned non-parkland and privately owned land within the Genco Canal, establishing a wetland preserve and trail connection to that land. Other land matches may be used as well. Up to $400,000 may be provided by the CMP Grant. Planning and design of the park additions will take place beginning as early as possible in FY2023. The preliminary grant application will be submitted in June 2022 with a final application due in October 2022 following an invitation from the CMP, expected in August. Approval of the grant will come in spring of 2023 and an agreement between the City and the GLO will begin October 1, 2023 (FY2024), when matching funding/land value will need to be available. This project is in included in the City's or County's FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
