All bids will be consideredvalid until 60 days after the opening date, although not acceptedor rejected. The work for which proposals are invited consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment, for the replacement ofapproximately 420 feet of existing storm sewer, and other miscellaneous work. Each bid shall contain thefull name and address of each person or company interested in thesame. It shall be accompanied by a proposal bond in the amountof one hundred percent (100%) of the bid, or by a certified check,cashier's check or irrevocable letter of credit for ten percent (10%)of the bid, made payable to the City of Athens, Ohio, conditionedthat if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into within ten(10) days after notice of acceptance. A performance bond of onehundred percent (100%) of the amount of the contract with a satisfactory surety company, conditioned according to law, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. The bidder willbe required to state in full detail on their proposal their experiencein this class of work, and bids from contractors inexperienced inthis particular class of work will not be considered. The work shallcommence upon written notice of award by the City of Athens. Domestic steel use requirements as specified in Ohio Revised Code153.011 apply to this project.
