Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Athens, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Allbids will be considered valid until 60 days after the opening date,although not accepted or rejected. The work for which proposals are invited consists of the furnishingof all labor, materials and equipment, for select curb and sidewalkreplacement, installation of solar street lights, and other miscellaneous work. Each bid shall contain thefull name and address of each person or company interested in thesame. It shall be accompanied by a proposal bond in the amountof one hundred percent (100%) of the bid, or by a certified check,cashier's check or irrevocable letter of credit for ten percent (10%)of the bid, made payable to the City of Athens, Ohio, conditionedthat if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into within ten(10) days after notice of acceptance. A performance bond of onehundred percent (100%) of the amount of the contract with a satisfactory surety company, conditioned according to law, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. The bidder willbe required to state in full detail on their proposal their experiencein this class of work, and bids from contractors inexperienced inthis particular class of work will not be considered. The work shallcommence upon written notice of award by the City of Athens. The Contractor must comply with the Federal Prevailing WageRates on public improvements in Athens County as ascertainedby the State of Ohio Department of Industrial Relations under theDavis-Bacon Act. The Contractor must comply with US Iron and Steel requirementsper 23 CFR 635.410 and ORC 153.011 and 5525.21. The City of Athens reserves the right to reject any and/or all bidsand to waive informalities as may be in its best interest.
