Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is soliciting proposals from qualified agencies for the Subway Surface Tunnel Signal System Replacement project. The qualified consultants shall be able to provide services that include but are not limited to engineering consultant services to the Communications & Signals Maintenance and Engineering Department to replace the existing CBTC Signal System currently in service with a new CBTC Signal System retaining all original functionality. In addition, the project will design for increased headway to support the safest and most optimum headway, the design for the replacement of the interlocking at 34 th and Ludlow Streets, Real Time Vehicle Location, Work Zone Blocking and will incorporate requirements for both the existing rail cars and new vehicles currently in design as part of the Trolley Modernization Project.
