Scope of Work Contractors shall visit the site and perform a thorough site inspection. The contractor shall inspect the site to become familiar with the existing conditions relating to the work to be performed and the difficulties and restrictions to the work to be performed. The contractor shall notify the CO/COR of any conditions that prevent the suitable completion of these requirements. Contractors: include with the quotation, the starting date the project will begin, once the contract is awarded. For example: Contractor award date plus 14-days, excluding weekends and holidays. AREAS TO BE ADDRESSED: 1. 28 Okanogan Street; physically located behind the Colville Tribal Police Department. a. Two concrete walkways and one stairway to be constructed as follows: i. During the initial site visit, the tribal Police administration will escort each Contractor and brief them on their requirements. ii. In all cases, the ground will be excavated, subgrade material added at a minimum depth of 3-inches, and mechanically compacted. iii. Concrete shall be 4,000-psi normal weight concrete throughout. Proper slump will be calculated for stairs in accordance with building code. iv. Walkways shall be 4-feet wide by 9-feet long and a minimum of 4-inches thick. Stair tread will be a minimum of 4-feet wide with 7-inch rise and 11-inch run. Rise and run will not deviate from the smallest measured dimension by more than 3/8 of an inch. v. Set forms for walkways with the upper edge true to line and grade with an allowable tolerance of 1/8 inch in any 10-foot long section. After forms are set, grade and alignment shall be checked with a 10-foot straightedge. Forms shall have a transverse slope of 1/4 inch per foot. vi. Stair tread shall have a 1% (1/8 inch per foot) slope to ensure water runoff. vii. A scored surface shall be produced by brooming with a fiber-bristle brush in a direction transverse to that of the walking path. viii. All edges shall be finished with an edger having a radius of 1/8 inch. ix. Joints shall be constructed to divide the surface into rectangular areas, spaced equally. x. Contraction joints shall be formed in the fresh concrete by cutting a groove in the top portion of the slab to a depth of at least one-fourth of the sidewalk slab thickness, using a jointer to cut the groove. xi. Handrail shall be added to stairway to meet code/regulations. The Contractor shall: i. Provide all labor, materials and equipment to complete the job. ii. Take precautions to avoid structural damage for concrete curing if temperatures drop below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. iii. Reinforcement steel shall be accurately and securely fastened in place with suitable supports and ties before concrete is placed. iv. Protect completed concrete from damage until accepted. Repair damaged concrete and clean concrete discolored during construction. Concrete that is damaged shall be removed and reconstructed for the entire length between regularly scheduled joints. Refinishing of the damaged portion will not be acceptable. Removed damaged portions shall be disposed of in accordance with current waste disposal regulations or requirements. v. Dispose of all excavated materials in accordance with current waste disposal regulations or requirements.
