Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Santa Rosa, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center; and 32,637-square-foot, one-story above grade fitness / recreation center.
The Sonoma County Junior College District ("District") dba Santa Rosa Junior College is pre-qualifying general and MEP contractors who wish to submit bids for the SRJC Tauzer Gym Renovation Project ("Project"). This pre-qualification is for contractors holding the following California contractor's licenses: B (General Building), C-20 (HVAC), C-10 (Electrical), or C-36 (Plumbing). Contractors must complete the pre-qualification questionnaire and general contractors must also submit their most recent reviewed financial statement. Once a contractor's pre-qualification statement is submitted, the District will evaluate the information and notify the contractor if pre-qualification requirements are met. Eligible contractors will then be entitled to submit bids for the SRJC Tauzer Gym Renovation Project. If two or more business entities seek pre-qualification on this project as a joint venture, or expect to pre-qualify as part of a joint venture, each entity within the joint venture must separately qualify to be selected. Sonoma County Junior College utilizes the college district website https://srjc.ionwave.net/Login.aspx and the Press Democrat (http://www.pressdemocrat.com/) for notification of formal solicitation opportunities. These are the only forms of notification authorized by the college district. Sonoma County Junior College shall not be responsible for receipt of notification and information received from any other source other than those listed. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to verify the validity of all RFQ information received by sources other than those listed. Question Deadline 10/26/2022 at 5:00 PM PT The Project is a renovation of an existing 32,637 square-foot building comprised of the original single-story gymnasium building, constructed in 1935, and a two-story east wing and single-story west wing, built in 1949, with several renovations since they were constructed. The building is classified as mixed, non-separated occupancies (A-4, A-3 and A-3) and is Type VB construction. The scope of work comprises remodeling the gymnasium, fitness center, locker rooms, equipment room, classrooms and offices. It includes hazardous material removal, a full seismic retrofit, selective demolition, replacement of exterior windows, replacement of the HVAC systems, replacement of the electrical systems, replacement of the lighting systems, replacement of the plumbing systems, a new security system, new AV system and equipment, a new elevator and exterior stairways, new roofing, new flooring and wall finishes, removal and infill of an existing swimming pool to convert it into an outdoor exercise space with a small running track, selective landscaping and site drainage, new paving and accessible parking and resurfacing the existing parking lot. The project includes the following DSA deferred submittals: telescoping bleachers at the gymnasium, elevator guide rails and anchorage, window wall spans in excess of 10'-0" and skylights. The project architect is TLCD Architecture, Inc. The Project is estimated to cost approximately $23,500,000.
