Question Deadline: Thu Oct 27, 2022 4:30:00 PM (EDT) Duration in months: 12 This Request for Proposals (the "RFP") is an invitation by The Corporation of the Town of The Blue Mountains (the "Town") to prospective Proponents to submit proposals for Supply and Delivery of Motor Control Centres for the Thornbury Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion Phase 1A, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix B) (the "Deliverables"). The Town is undertaking upgrades to the Thornbury Wastewater Treatment Plant (TWWTP) to increase the current rated capacity from 3,580 m3/d to 5,330 m3/d. The TWWTP is an extended activated sludge system with screening, grit removal, aeration, clarification, and disinfection prior to discharge of the treated effluent to the Beaver River. Currently, there is an existing 5-Section Motor Control Centre (MCC) which is the main power distribution center for the TWWTP located in the MCC room of the existing administration building. The existing MCC is at the end of its useful life and the MCC manufacturer is no longer in business, therefore parts are obsolete, and servicing is difficult. The existing MCC room has no available space to allow for addition of new MCCs. The Town has determined that additional space is required to allow for the installation of new MCCs. To address the space issues, the office area near the existing MCC room will be repurposed to a new MCC room and the wall between the existing MCC room and the repurposed area will be removed to form a larger area for MCCs and other electrical equipment, which are within appropriate distance to this modified MCC room. The existing MCC will be replaced with new MCC. As part of the TWWTP Phase 1A expansion project, a new RAS/WAS Building will be constructed. The ground floor of the RAS building will be the Electrical Control Room and will house the MCC and other electrical equipment. The RAS/WAS Building control room will house MCC sections for RAS and WAS pumps and will provide power and control to other nearby process areas. The basement area of the RAS/WAS building will be the pump room and will house the RAS and WAS pumps and associated piping.
