This project involves the construction ofthe following: The installation of 5,800 ft of 18" Ductile Iron Pipe and related appurtenances as well as the installation of(2) new reclaimed water meters; associated sitework, excavation, and backfill, as well as the restoration of existing improvements and all other incidental work necessary to complete the project Bids shall be submitted via the Public Purchase System, otherwise the bids shall not be opened or considered. All bids will be encrypted until the hour of opening. Bids received after the time fixed for opening will not be considered. The County ofMaui will not be responsible in any way for errors in transmission or failure to receive the bid by the deadline due to the bidder's error. Upon bid opening, all bid documents submitted will be available for viewing by all bidders The Contractor and his Subcontractor(s), if any shall comply with all applicable revisions ofthe prevailing wage rate schedule as required under Chapter 104, H.R.S. To be eligible to bid, bidders must be licensed in accordance with Chapter 444, HRS, relating to the licensing of contractors. Contractors are hereby notified of the applicability of Section 11-205.5, HRS, which states that campaign contributions are prohibited from specified State or County government contractors during the term ofthe contract ifthe contractors are paid with funds appropriated by the legislative body. The County ofMaui, in accordance with the provisions ofTitle VI ofthe Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252) and the Regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations Part 21) issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds ofrace, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or disability. The Equal Employment Opportunity Regulations of the Secretary of Labor implementing Executive Order 11246, as amended shall be complied with on this project. No proposal will be considered unless accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security: cash, a cashier's check, or a certified check on a bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or a bidder's bond executed by an approved surety insurer, made payable to the Director of Finance in the manner, form, and amount required by Section 103D-323 ofthe Hawaii Revised Statutes.
