Site work for a civil project in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The existing box culvert under Southern Blvd at Nicklaus Dr is a deficient crossing where stormwater flows are compromising existing and future development of properties. Without improvement of this crossing, stormwater flows could threaten the integrity of Southern Blvd, a principal arterial roadway, and Nicklaus Dr causing safety concerns to the traveling public. The construction of this drainage crossing is the first critical step to the Southern Blvd Phase II widening project in order to streamline traffic control phasing while limiting impacts on the traveling public and nearby commercial properties. Project is included City of Rio Rancho FY 2023 - 2029 Budget CIP. As of January 10, 2024, project is funded for FY2024. Design is complete and construction started October 2023. Will be complete in 8 months, June 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
