The Work included in this Contract consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials for the stabilization of stream banks along Landis Creek (Trib 01163) in various locations, the extension of the concrete sewer pipe encasement, and the replacement of 275 linear feet of 10" PVC pipe, replaced with 10" ductile iron pipe (DIP). Additional work includes the installation of all required temporary and permanent erosion and sedimentation controls. Clarification deadline 12/2/2022 4:00 pm All bids will be reviewed by the Perkiomen Township Municipal Authority at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in the Perkiomen Township Administration Building, One Trappe Road, Collegeville, PA. Online bids shall be submitted by way of the Program. Paper bids will not be accepted for this project. Each Proposal for the Project shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the form provided by the Contract Documents, drawn to the order of the Perkiomen Township Municipal Authority, and in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the extended Bid Amount, as a guarantee that if the Proposal is accepted, a Contract will be entered into and the performance thereby properly secured. The Work shall be substantially completed within Ninety (90) calendar days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. The entire length of the Contract shall be One Hundred Twenty (120) days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Proposals shall be valid for sixty (60) calendar days from the date of Bid opening. Attention is called to the fact that prevailing minimum wage rates as determined by the Secretary of the Department of Labor and Industry must be paid by the Contractors on this projects and that employees and applicants for employment shall not be discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap. Each Bidder is required to meet the requirements of Public Works Employment Verification Act, Act 127 of 2012. The OWNER, Perkiomen Township Municipal Authority, hereby reserves the right, which is understood and agreed to by all bidders, to refuse and reject any or all bids submitted, to waive any informality in bids received, and to accept the Bid, which is in the best interest of the Authority, consistent with the laws affecting municipal contract awards. The Project, of which the Work under the Contract Documents is generally described as follows: 1. Streambank stabilization and rehabilitation along the Landis Creek (Trib 01136) at various locations 2. Replacement of 275 LF of 10" PVC sanitary sewer with 10" DIP sanitary sewer 3. Extension of concrete sanitary sewer pipe encasement by plus or minus 5 LF The Work included in this Contract is generally divided into two areas. The first area includes the repair and rehabilitation the sanitary sewer main exposed within the Landis Creek at the designated locations and the extension of the concrete encasement. The concrete encasement will be extended 5 LF into the creek bank and the bank will be re-established with native material and stabilized as noted on the plans. The work also includes the replacement of 275 LF of 10" PVC sanitary sewer pipe with new ductile iron pipe as identified on the Drawings. This area of Work also includes the bypass pumping of the Landis Creek via use of a cofferdams. Bypass pumping of the sanitary sewer line during replacement is also required. The second area of Work includes the stabilization of the streambank along Landis Creek. This will be accomplished utilizing a Filtrexx bank stabilization system with R-4 rock bank and geotextile liner with soil backfill. The restoration and seeding of the streambank and any other disturbed areas is also included in the area of Work.
