Site work for a water / sewer project in Ketchikan, Alaska. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The seaplane haulout ramp and the dock are beyond repair and the cement ramp needs to be refurbished. The dock that leads out to the three plane haul-out is beyond repair. The electrical cable runs are routed inside the dock sections and have been non-operational for ten years. The pullouts themselves are positioned in the wrong way and at least six are needed instead of the current three. The way they are positioned makes it difficult to pull a plane up on the ramp because of the current and wind. There are not enough seaplane pull-outs available in the community. This project is in included in the Ketchikan Gateway Borough FY 2024-2028 ClP. As of September 5, 2023, information regarding a design team and the contractor selection has not been disclosed. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
