Wabasha Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD)/ Gorman Creek Restoration: Construction of Natural Channel Design (NCD) to realign and restore approximately 1330 feet of Gorman Creek and 730 feet of a spring tributary to a stable, functioning stream channel that provides quality habitat for trout and other wildlife. Gorman Creek is a coldwater trout stream in Southeast Minnesota. A stable stream channel will be established by forming and grading the land to proper channel dimension, pattern, and profile. Instream habitat for fish and aquatic organisms will also be enhanced with a variety of practices implemented during construction. These include installation of rock, riffles, toe wood, hammerhead pools, cover rocks, and riparian vegetation.
