As of February 13, 2023, project was awarded to Jutte Excavating Inc, awarded amount is $1,254,874.92. The project consists of the construction of 3,725 feet of asphalt recreational trail to replace an existing gravel drive. The asphalt trail will pass underneath the 1-75 Bridge and tie into the existing asphalt Miami Erie Canal Trail. Two (2) driven steel sheet pile retaining walls will be constructed on the slopes of the 1-75 Bridge. Any and all question regarding the referenced project must be submitted through the Bid Express website no later than Monday, December 12, 2022. Questions submitted outside of Bid Express will not be answered. State of Ohio Department of Natural Resources Clean Ohio Trails Funds and Capital Improvement Projects funding are being used to assist construction and relevant State requirements will apply. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionlly, contractor compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 is required. The Contractor shall be required to pay not less than the minimum wage rates established by the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of Ohio. Each electronic Bid must include the required submissions and be accompanied by either a Bid bond in an amount of 10% of the Bid amount or by certified check, cashier's check, or letter of credit upon a solvent bank in the amount of not less than 10% of the Bid amount. A 100% Performance Bond will be required after the Contract is awarded to cover the installation period. Bid Bonds shall list the City of Sidney, Ohio and the Ohio Department of Transportation as Obligee and be accompanied by Proof of Authority of the official or agent signing the bond. No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, The City of Sidney reserves the right to waive any irregularities, to reject any or a" bids, and to award the contract to the bidder deemed to be in 'the best interest of the City of Sidney.
