Renovation of a residential development in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
This Invitation is extended by the Scranton Housing Authority (SHA) for the described project. Sealed bids, in duplicate, are invited for Door & Window Replacement work. Description of Work: The work of this project Includes, but is not limited to the following work at the following Housing Authority sites: new vinyl replacement windows, removal and replacement of steel entrance doors and removal and replacement of steel boiler room double doors at Jackson Terrace, Riverside, Hilltop Manor and Bangor Heights, all located in Scranton, PA. The work consists of approximately 900 doors and 4000 windows distributed throughout the four sites. Checks shall be made payable to Steamtown Blueprint, documents may be reviewed at Steamtown Blueprint, 308 Penn Avenue, Scranton, PA 18503 during normal business hours. Prime Contractors purchasing bid documents must register to ensure that they will receive information issued during the bid period. Bid Security: A certified check or bank draft, US Government Bonds or a satisfactory Bid Bond in an amount not less than 5 percent (5%) of the amount of the bid and drafted in favor of the Scranton Housing Authority shall be submitted with each bid. Performance Bonds: The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for Performance and Labor and Material Bonds which are acceptable to the Authority. Wage Requirement; Equal Employment Opportunity: Attention is called to the wage and equal employment opportunity requirements of this project, as contained in the Bid Documents. Authority Rights: The Scranton Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Proposal Term: No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after time of opening without the consent of the Authority. Contract Time: Two-hundred fifty (250) consecutive calendar days from February 1, 2023 has been established as the construction period for the Base Bid work. The contract shall begin immediately after execution of Agreement with the Scranton Housing Authority. Attention is directed to the liquidated damages clause in the General Conditions section of the specifications. Permits: The successful Bidder shall be required to obtain and pay costs of all applicable licenses, permits and fees and shall submit copies to the Authority.
