The City of Red Deer (the "City") invites interested Vendors (respondents) to submit a quotation for Hydrovac Services. The successful respondent will be required to enter into an Agreement with the City for a one (1) year period. The City at its sole discretion may choose to extend the Agreement for up to four (4) years in one (1) year increments. The City requires additional Hydrovac resources to complete construction and maintenance projects effectively and efficiently year round for planned, as well as reactive, and emergency work. The Utilities Department undertake numerous construction and maintenance projects each year, and hire additional equipment as required. The work is year round with a seasonal increase in demand during the typical construction months, April through November. Other City Departments may require use of this contract in addition to the Utilities Department. The Deliverables required but not limited to, are as follows: Ground Excavation, including frozen-ground conditions Underground utility exposure o Ex. Primary and secondary power cables, water and wastewater infrastructure, gas infrastructure, fibre optic and communications infrastructure. o Water removal from underground infrastructures and other underground locations o Pressure washing o Pit excavations o Daylighting o Slot trenching o De-watering While The City may request the services of the successful Respondent, no minimum hours is guaranteed. The City may, at its sole discretion, award to more than one respondent. Should the City determine it needs to award to more than one respondent due to the amount of equipment available not meeting the yearly requirements, with the highest scoring respondent being the contractor that is utilized first, then the next highest scoring respondent being contacted. For the purpose of this quotation the City will accept a combined bid from vendors to align and manage the volume of work expected. If a respondent is a part of combined bid the City will still accept an individual bid from each respondent in the combined bid. A respondent can only be successful in one award however, with the highest scoring quotation they are part of being offered an award. If a respondent is unable to reach agreement on their highest scoring quotation, their next highest scoring quotation may also be rejected at the sole discretion of the City of Red Deer.
