Salem District, is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide snow and ice removal services through VDOT's M7B programNew bid item 415 - FARM TRACTOR, 4WD, 150 - 249 HP with OWNER PLOW AND VDOT SPREADER. Work Location:Salem District - Bedford, Botetourt, Carroll, Craig, Floyd, Giles, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick, Pulaski, and Roanoke Counties The Contractors equipment shall include: vehicles, fuel, chains, supplies, and any tools necessary to insure safe operation and safe equipment. Equipment shall be properly licensed and shall adhere to all applicable federal and state motor vehicle regulations. The Contractor shall maintain all required equipment in a condition that enables the Contractor to safely and effectively perform services throughout the duration of the Agreement. Any equipment failing to meet any of the Agreement standards, deemed to be inadequate, or requiring an inordinate amount of alterations, shall not have VDOT snow removal equipment /components installed, and shall not be allowed to perform work under this Agreement. The Contractor is not eligible for payment (at Standby Rate or at the Designated Rate) until equipment is brought into compliance by the Contractor, as solely determined by VDOT. The Agreement period will be from the date of award through April 30th of the following year. The purchasing agency reserves the right to cancel and terminate any resulting Agreement, in part or in whole, without penalty, upon 60 days written notice to the contractor. In the event the initial Agreement period is for more than 12 months, the resulting Agreement may also be terminated by the contractor, without penalty, after the initial 12 months of the Agreement period upon 60 days written notice to the other party. Any Agreement cancellation notice shall not relieve the contractor of the obligation to deliver and/or perform on all outstanding orders issued prior to the effective date of cancellation. December 23, 2022 (7 PM): The Contractor must submit a completed Snow Removal Equipment Agreement and all completed attachments by 7:00 PM Friday December 23, 2022 in order to be eligible for mobilization payment. December 30, 2022 (7 PM): The Contractor must correct any omissions or errors and resubmit the Snow Removal Equipment Agreement by 7:00 PM Friday December 30, 2022 in order to be eligible for mobilization payment. January 6, 2023: The Contractor shall pick up all VDOT issued equipment from the Designated VDOT Location no later than Friday January 6, 2023. December 23, 2022 (7 PM): The Contractor must submit a completed Snow Removal Equipment Agreement and all completed attachments by 7:00 PM Friday December 23, 2022 in order to be eligible for minimum guaranteed payment. April 14, 2023 The Contractor shall return all VDOT equipment to the Designated VDOT Location no later than Friday April 14, 2023. VDOT reserves the right to solely use its own equipment and to use or not use any contracted equipment
