Reference Number 00003338574 Source ID SCRIBE Vendors are advised the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) intends to direct award an agreement to Kemira Water Solutions Canada Inc. (Kemira) to supply ferrous chloride to safely precipitate hydrogen sulfide in wastewater for odour control and corrosion reduction. The RDN wishes to direct award for the following reasons: To the best of the RDN's knowledge, Kemira is the only supplier of ferrous chloride in British Columbia. Alternative chemicals that function in a similar manner to ferrous chloride and safely precipitate dissolved hydrogen sulfide in wastewater are more expensive. These chemicals could include ferric chloride and ferric sulphate. Objections must be submitted on company letterhead and be signed by an individual authorized to represent the company submitting the objection. Vendors must clearly state the reasons why they believe they are qualified prior to making a final decision.
