Demolition, site work and new construction of a civil project in Ankeny, Iowa. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; and for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
This project will replace the existing bridge with a reinforced concrete box (RCB) culvert. The existing bridge is a single span 16 arch bridge constructed of concrete and timber. The bridge is located south of East 1st Street on SE Frisk Drive, spanning a tributary stream to Four Mile Creek. This project includes engineering design, construction engineering services and construction in 2024. The project is included in the City's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of October 29, 2025, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
