The work in connection with this project constitutes a Public Works by a Public Body under Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act. Bidders are advised that prevailing minimum wage rates, promulgated by the Pennsylvania Secretary of Labor, which must be paid to workmen employed on this project, are incorporated in the Contract Documents. All bids shall remain irrevocable for sixty days after the actual date of the opening thereof unless award is delayed due to the required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds, or the award of a grant or grants; in which case, bids shall be irrevocable for one hundred twenty days in compliance with Act 317 of 1978 approved November 26, 1978, as amended. The project proposes to install 1,500 LF of new gravity sewer, a pump station and approximately 1,200 LF of 4" forcemain to serve 22 EDU's. The project also will replace 2,600 LF of existing sewers with new sewer pipe with approximately 3,200 LF of 8" diameter gravity sewer designed to serve 41 EDU's plus the EDU's from the forcemain. Three residential properties located on Harmony Grove Road will have grinder pumps installed in order to pump their sewage up to the gravity sewer system. The project also entails the replacement of 2600 LF of 10-inch asbestos cement pipe with 12-inch ductile iron pipe. As well as extending 280 LF along George Street with 8-inch ductile iron pipe and 900 LF along Harmony Grove Road with 8-inch ductile iron pipe. *Information regarding subcontractor bidding has not been disclosed to the content management team at this time.
