Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Corpus Christi, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Consultant Sheet No: 210090 The Contractor shall perform a full reconstruction of Carroll Lane from Holly Road South to the dead end, a distance of 4,180'. According to the City's Urban Transportation Plan, this section of Carroll Lane is classified as a C-1 Residential Collector. The entrance road ("Carroll Entrance" - Baseline 'C') on the south side of Holly Road is a 4-lane roadway with one travel lane in each direction, a dedicated right turn lane and a dedicated left turn lane. Carroll Entrance transitions into a parkway configuration with 2-lane roadways ("Carroll East" - Baseline 'B' and "Carroll West" - Baseline 'A') on either side of the Kostoryz/Carroll Ditch. Carroll East and Carroll West have one travel lane in each direction. The roadway connecting Carroll East and Carroll West ("Carroll Middle" - Baseline 'D') is also a 2-lane roadway with one travel lane in each direction. 4" mountable curb is present on the east side of Carroll East and the west side of Carroll West, and 6" standard curb and gutter is present throughout the rest of the project limits. 4' wide concrete sidewalks are located on the west side of Carroll West and on the east side of Carroll East. Carroll East and Carroll West are located in 46'-wide street rights-of-way (ROW). Carroll Entrance and Carroll Middle are located in the 150'-wide drainage easement that contains the Kostoryz/Carroll Ditch. Existing utilities include underground stormwater infrastructure, asbestos concrete pipe (ACP) waterline, vitrified clay pipe (VCP) wastewater collection lines along Carroll East and Carroll West, a 30" PVC wastewater main, and a 4" polyethylene (PE) gas line on the east side of Carroll East. AEP and AT&T have overhead and underground infrastructure within the Project Limits. No other third-party utilities are apparent within the Project Limits (per Record Information and 1-Call responses). Streetlights within the Project Limits are installed on AEP wood poles. The scope of Project improvements approved by City staff with the Final Engineering Letter Report (FELR) includes the following: full reconstruction of the roadway using the existing layout with modified lane widths. The new travel lanes will be 11' wide designed with a hot-mix, asphalt concrete (HMAC) pavement section and a 6" standard curb and gutter. Pedestrian improvements include 5' wide concrete sidewalks on the west side of Carroll West, the east side of Carroll East, and the north side of Carroll Middle, 1-way cycle tracks on both sides of Carroll Entrance and a 10' wide off-road multi-use trail from Carroll Entrance south to Carroll Middle. The remainder of the 10' wide off-road multi-use trail from Carroll Middle south to the dead end has been designed but will be constructed by a future project. The existing corrugated metal stormwater infrastructure will be removed and replaced with new and appropriately sized reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) infrastructure; ACP waterlines will be removed and replaced with C900 DR18 PVC waterlines; VCP wastewater lines along Carroll West will be pipeburst with IPS DR19 HDPE, VCP wastewater line along Carroll East will be removed and replaced with SDR26 PVC; and, the existing 4" City gas line on the east side of Carroll East will be extended south to the end of the Project. Proposed utility improvements will be designed to avoid 3rd party utilities as best as possible. Per directives from City staff, traffic signal and pedestrian improvements will be included at the Holly Road intersection, and streetlights will be improved within the project Limits. The deadline to ask questions is 1/18/2023 4:00 PM CST
