Conceptual plans call for the addition of a fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for the renovation of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

As of Sept 4, 2024, a design firm was never awarded and this RFQ was cancelled. The customer has plans to issue another RFQ in the future with a different scope of work. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Dickson, Tennessee, and Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer, is wishing to enter into a Professional Service Agreement with a Professional Design Firm or team to provide services related to the development of Design and Construction Documents for the renovations and additions of the City of Dickson Fire Station Number 2. Scope of Work Complete Design and Construction Documents including plans and bid documents needed to solicit qualified construction bids for the construction of proposed renovations to an existing fire station, assist with solicitation of construction bids and review of submitted construction bid documents, and provide all recommended Construction Engineering Inspections associated with any construction activities. Method of payment for the Professional Service Agreement will be lump sum for each phase of project (Schematic Design, Design Development, Final Plans, Construction, CEI, and Potential Grant Application). Responsibilities of the Professional Consultant Design Firm or team include, but are not limited to: 1. Prepare all design documentation needed for the construction renovations for Fire Station 2. 2. Prepare all documents needed to solicit qualified bids. 3. Assist City Staff in reviewing submitted construction bids, and preparing bid tabs for presentation to City Council 4. Perform Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) services during construction in accordance with current engineering practices. 5. Provide an Opinion of Probable Construction Cost of the proposed project construction at each phase of design mentioned above to assist with project budgeting. 6. Assist with application to any State/Federal/Private Grant opportunities that are available Firms may request consideration by submitting a letter of intent along with qualifications to Christopher Hooper, Project Director, 600 East Walnut Street, Dickson, Tennessee 37055. The letter of intent and qualifications shall indicate the scope of services to be completed by any sub-consultant. The City Selection Committee will review the submitted SOQ's, and may request interviews or presentations from selected firms. The factors that will be considered in the evaluation of proposals are: 1. Knowledge of International Codes and Building Design Standards = 20% 2. Knowledge of Fire Station and Emergency Facility Design. = 20% 3. Past experience in the required disciplines with other clients. = 10% 4. Qualifications and availability of staff. = 10% 5. Demonstrated ability to meet schedules without compromising sound design practices. = 10% 6. Evaluations on prior projects with other clients, if available. = 10% 7. Size of project. = 10% 8. Amount of work under contract with other clients. = 10% Evaluation proceedings will be conducted within the established guidelines regarding equal employment opportunity and nondiscriminatory actions based upon the grounds of race, color, sex, creed, or national origin.
