All bidders shall be licensed in accordance with provisions of the Business and Professions Code and shall possess a State Contractor's C-20 - Warm-Air Hearing, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Contractor license, at the time of bid submittal. The successful Contractor and any subcontractors will be required to possess business licenses from the City. The work to be done consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals as required by the Plans and Contract Documents. The general items of work include the installation of a new heating and cooling system for the Lanterman House Visitor's Center and Office. Clean up and leave in an operable and acceptable condition all the work and other items not mentioned that are required by the Plans and Specifications. All queries related to the Project shall be submitted electronically to the Public Works Management Analyst II at ptaber@lcf.ca.gov no later than January 17, 2023. All Addenda, if any, will only be posted on the City's website. It shall be the Bidder's responsibility to check the City website for any addenda. Any questions shall be directed to the Public Works Department at 818-790-8882. Any contract entered into pursuant to this notice will incorporate the provisions of the State Labor Code. Pursuant to the provisions of the California Labor Code Section 1773.2, the minimum prevailing rate of per diem wages for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute the Contract shall be those determined by the Director of Industrial Relations of the State of California, which are on file in the Public Works Department at City Hall and are available to any interested party on request. All works shall be completed in its entirety within ten (10) working days from the date of Notice to proceed. PAYMENT RETENTION. A 5 percent retention will be applied in this Contract. Pursuant to Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code, the Contractor has to option to deposit securities with Escrow agent as a substitute for retention earnings required to be withheld by the City. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, and to make awards in the interest of the City. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the bid opening.
