Furnishing of labor, materials, and equipment required for the resurfacing of N. Detroit Street, from Kinsey Rd, to Church St., according to the Instructions to Bidders, General Conditions, Specifications, Required Contract Provisions, Plans and/or Drawings included with the bid packets. There is a DBE goal of 7% on this Project. Only ODOT pre-qualified contractors are eligible to submit bids for this Project. Pre-qualification status must be in force at the time of bid, at the time of award, and through the life of the Contract. For work types that ODOT does not pre-qualify, the City must still select a qualified contractor. Subcontractors are not subject to the pre-qualification requirement. The prime contractor must perform no less than 30% of the total original contract price. Bids are to be submitted on the following proposal: Furnish all materials, labor, and equipment needed to mill and resurface N. Detroit Street, from Kinsey Rd. to Church St.; all work to be as directed by the City Engineer and in accordance with the Conditions, Specifications, Required Contract Provisions, Plans and/or Drawings included in the bid packet. Bids are to be submitted on a per unit basis and are to be for complete work. Pursuant to ORC Section 153.54, no bid shall be considered unless it is accompanied by a Bid Bond for the full amount of the bid -OR- a cashiers check or certified check, issued by a responsible bank or trust company and payable to the order of the City of Xenia, or a letter of credit issued in accordance with ORC Chapter 1305., in the sum of at least ten percent (10%) of the bid. The bid guaranty or bid bond shall be enclosed with the sealed bid. The attention of Bidders is directed to the special statutory provisions governing the prevailing rate of wages to be paid to laborers and mechanics employed on this Project under the Davis Bacon Act and to special statutory provisions regarding nondiscrimination. Federal domestic procurement requirements regarding use of domestic steel and iron apply to this Project. Bids for at least 21 calendar days, starting from the first date of publication in a local newspaper and ending no earlier than the date of the bid opening. The City of Xenia reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any discrepancies or irregularities in the Bids. The Bid will be awarded, in the City discretion, to the lowest and best Bidder(s).
