The proposed improvement is officially known as "Dog Park Fence at 5550 Idlewild Road," which consists of 3,900 feet of fence, 9 - 4' walk gates and 10 - 12' gates and any other work as required to fully complete the project. Fencing Options Option 1: Black Vinyl Coated Chain Link Fence All posts are to be set in concrete with a maximum line spacing of 10 lineal feet End, corner, and gate posts are to be 2 1/2" outside diameter; SS-40 Line post are to be 2" outside diameter; SS-40 Top and bottom rail are to be 1 5/8" outside diameter; SS-40 Chain link fabric is to be 9 gauge core with a 6 gauge finish x 2" mesh; KK All gates are to be self-closing and self-latching Option 2: 4 Board Fence - ** May subsititue 4 x 4 posts for 5"- 6" faced post at an additional cost** All posts are to be set in concrete with a maximum line spacing of 8 lineal feet All posts are to be 4" x 4" pressure treated pine, except gate hinge posts are to be 4" x 6" Boards are to be 1" x 6" pressure treated poplar Vinyl coated welded wire measures 2" x 4" x 48" (Heavy 12 gauge) and are to be black in color All gates are to be self-closing and self-latching Specifications The Boone County Parks Department will be requesting two options of fencing between chain link and KY board fence consisting of installation of 3,900 feet of fence, 9 - 4' walk gates and 10 - 12' gates (see preliminary drawing in section 8. Attachments). Time of completion will be a consideration in the award. These specifications are not intentionally written around any one manufacturer and are for the purpose of indicating general size, type, and description of the equipment needed. Quantities shown in these specifications are estimates and are made in good faith on the part of the Boone County Fiscal Court (BCFC). Any verbal communications will not be considered. All questions received by the due date will be logged, and reviewed, and if required, a response will be provided via an addendum to the bid package that will be posted on the County's procurement portal. Any communications, whether written or verbal, with any County elected official or County staff with regards to project details and scope prior to award of a contract is strictly prohibited and the bidder shall be disqualified from consideration.
