Site work for a water / sewer project in Port Angeles, Washington. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Morse Creek Transmission main concrete cylinder pipe (CCP) needs to be replaced, or an alternative method of delivering water to its service area needs to be developed. More leaks should be anticipated by the City until repairs are made. The need for replacement of this type of pipe is well understood and is being, or has been, undertaken at several utilities around western Washington. The City's CCP replacement has been on the capital improvements list for replacement as early as 1993. A past consultant evaluations recommended the City develop a program to replace the pipe in 2,000 - 5,000 LF sections over the course of 4- 7 years. From Hurricane Ridge rd to Golf Course rd. Project is included in the City of Port Angeles's FY 2023 - 2028 CIP. Per the owner, as of February 21, 2023, a design team has not been selected. Owner states that a timeline for construction has not been determined. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
