Site work and paving for a road / highway in Trinidad, Colorado. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Las Animas County (County) is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors/bidders to place new Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) on segments of County Road 24.6 (Gray Creek east of Trinidad) and an overlay on 57.7 (Reilly Canyon west of Trinidad) New HMA will be placed on an aggregate base course road that the County will prepare. Overlay will be placed on existing asphalt. For the new asphalt, the bottom course will be app 2" in depth followed by a top course of app 2". The overlay will consist of an app 2" course. For 24.6 (new HMA) the Bidder will saw cut (or other process approved by County), remove and dispose of existing HMA, at the "beginning" and "end" of the project (Gray Creek at the west end and near the Prator Rifle Range at the east end), so full depth of the asphalt is achieved prior to placing either course. For 57.7 (overlay) the area overlaid shall begin and end with a transverse butt joint which shall be constructed with a transverse saw cut and asphalt removal, so a smooth transition is achieved, unless otherwise approved by the County
