The purpose of this Invitation to Bid (ITB) is for the procurement of tree planting services, in accordance to this Invitation to Bid (ITB) # 23-08-23B. The City of Roanoke reserves the right to award to multiple Bidders. The City of Roanoke invites any qualified Bidder to respond to this ITB by submitting a Bid for such work, service, and/or items consistent with the terms and conditions herein set forth. A description and/or listing of the services and/or items the Successful Bidder will be required to provide to the City under this ITB are those that are set forth below, and/or referred to in any way in the ITB, purchase order, any terms and conditions, and/or any attachments referred to in this ITB. Each Bidder should carefully read and review all such documents. The following are the services that the Successful Bidder shall provide to the City of Roanoke: The Successful Bidder shall provide tree planting services for City of Roanoke as specified herein. A. Materials: 1. Attachment B is a complete list of any trees which may be purchased over the course of this contract. 2. All trees shall conform to the City of Roanoke's (City) "Plant Material Specifications" and the current issue of the American Standard for Nursery Stock published by the American Association of Nurserymen. 3. Plant materials must be selected from certified nurseries that have been inspected by state and/or federal agencies. Nursery inspection certificates shall be furnished to the City upon request. 4. The nursery supply source shall certify that the origin of the seeds from which the trees and shrubs were produced is Hardiness Zone 7, east of the Mississippi River. Stock from colder zones may be accepted, subject to City approval. 5. Plant material collected from the wild is prohibited. 6. Container grown stock shall have been grown in a container long enough for the root system to have developed sufficiently to hold its soil. Roots shall visibly extend to the inside face of the growing container. All container-grown plants shall be grouped and kept moist and cool until they are planted. Plants left to dry in the sun prior to planting may be rejected on-site by the Urban Forester 7. The Urban Forester may reject plants damaged in handling or transportation. 8. No plants shall be installed unless the Urban Forester approves both the condition of the plantings and the process of installation. Mulch material shall be either shredded hardwood mulch, double shredded hardwood mulch, or approved equal material shall be mulching grade, uniform in size, and free of foreign matter
