Site work for a mixed-use development in Farmington, California. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The County of Calaveras will receive sealed bids for the Rock Creek Solid Waste Facility Phase III Surface Impoundment and Phase III - A Expansion. The project, generally described, includes furnishing labor, equipment, and materials to clean closure the existing leachate impoundment, construct the Phase III Surface Impoundment, Phase III-A Expansion and related structures, including excavating and stockpiling/disposal of soils, geosynthetics installation, and construction of the leachate collection and removal system (LCRS) and stormwater features. The lined area is approximately 11 acres including 10 plan acres of Phase III-A Expansion area and 1 plan acres of Phase III Surface Impoundment area. Any bidder who has not signed the sign-in sheet will not be able to participate in the job walk and will not be able to submit a bid. 1. All necessary construction staking to lay-out the work and other surveying to compute quantities and prepare asbuild drawings. 2. The Contractor shall prepare a site-specific Health and Safety Plan and emergency Response and Contingency Plan (subject to approval by the County), furnish health and safety equipment and decontamination materials as specified in the Health and Safety Plan, and implement provisions ofthe Emergency Response Contingency Plan as necessary. 3. The Contractor shall prepare Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) (subject to approval by the County), prior to the start ofwork. The SWPPP will be implemented under the Contractor's Construction General Permit. 4. Demolition of existing features within the construction area as shown on the Construction drawings. 5. Temporary handling and storage of leachate from the existing Phase II Surface Impoundment, Phase II-B leachate primary and secondary sumps and the subdrain sump, 6. Clean closure ofthe existing Phase II Surface Impoundment per the Clean Closure Work Plan (GLA, 2022) and removal ofsoil to excavation grades shown on the Construction Drawings. 7. Excavation to the lines and grades shown on the Construction Drawings and stockpiling soils within the project area. Stockpile location shown on the Construction Drawings. 8. Placement and compaction ofthe engineered fill material to the lines and grades shown on the Construction Drawings. 9. Excavation, segregation, screening, and placement offoundation layer in Phase III-A. 10. Preparation ofthe geosynthetics anchor trenches including locating, excavating, backfilling, and compaction. 11. Exposure and cleaning ofthe existing geosynthetics termination for liner tie-in in Phase III-A. 12. Preparation ofthe geosynthetic subgrade. 13. Furnishing and installation of Phase III Surface Impoundment and Phase III-A Expansion liner system components. 14. Furnishing and installation ofthe leachate collection and removal system (LCRS) components (including primary and secondary) and subdrain system in Phase III-A. 15. Furnishing and installation ofthe LCRS injection pipe in Phase III-A as shown on the Construction Drawings. 16. Furnishing and installation in the Phase III-A Expansion oftwo dual-contained high-density polyethylene (HDPE) leachate sump tanks (primary and secondary), and HDPE subdrain sump tank, pumps and control panel. 17. Furnishing and installation ofthe dual-contained forcemain system, including fittings and air pressure release valve, from Phase III-A sumps to the Phase III Surface Impoundment. 18. Furnishing and installation ofleak detection and lysimeter riser pipes, pumps, and control panel in the Phase III Surface Impoundment. 19. Furnishing and installation ofthe LCRS injection pipe in the Phase III Surface Impoundment and in Phase III-A as shown on the Construction Drawings. 20. Excavation, screening, and placement of base operations laying in Phase III-A 21. Furnishing, stockpiling and placement ofside slope operations/LCRS layer in Phase III-A. 22. Furnishing and installation ofgeosynthetic ballast system in Phase III-A. 23. Providing support for geoelectric leak location surveys in Phase III-A and the Phase III Surface Impoundment. 24. Construction ofstormwater control facilities including channels, drop inlets, downdrains, concrete sediment basin and culverts. 25. Placement ofwoven geotextile and aggregate base on access roads. 26. Furnishing and installation ofPhase III Surface Impoundment 6' High Chain Link Fence, gates and bird screen systems. 27. Erosion control including hydroseeding and straw wattle placement. 28. Furnishing, installation, and testing of all electrical and mechanical components as shown on the Construction Drawings. 29. Preparation of all required Record Drawings and surveys necessary to document as-build quantities/conditions. 30. Provide warranties, performance and payment bonds, and insurance as specified in the Contract Documents. 31. Generate and submit Project Schedules and Schedules of Values for County/Engineer's review. 32. Satisfy the substantive requirements of permits required from appropriate federal, state, and local authorities such as stormwater discharge, erosion, and sedimentation. 33. Mobilization and demobilization ofequipment and systems at the site. 34. Site cleanup and restoration. The Phase lll-A base liner system will consist of the following elements from top to bottom 1. 12-in thick base operations layer. 2. 8 oz/sy nonwoven geotextile filter. 3. 12-in thick drainage gravel. 4. 16 oz/sy nonwoven geotextile cushion 5. Primary 60 mil high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane doublesided textured (DST). 6. Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL). 7. Geocomposite (nonwoven geotextile on top and bottom heat bonded to a minimum 200-mil geonet core). 8. Secondary 60 mil HDPE geomembrane (DST). 10. 1-ft thick foundation layer The Phase III-A side slope liner system will consist of the following elements from top to bottom: 1. 2-ft thick side slope operations/LCRS layer, placed 5' vertically up the slope. 2. Geosynthetic ballast system. 2. 60 mil HDPE primary geomembrane single-sided textured (SST), smooth side up. 3. GCL. 4. Prepared subgrade or engineered fill. The Phase III Surface Impoundment liner system will consist of the following elements from top to bottom: 1. Primary 60 mil HDPE geomembrane (DST). 2. Geocomposite (nonwoven geotextile on top and bottom heat bonded to a minimum 200-mil geonet core). 3. Secondary 60 mil HDPE geomembrane (DST). 4. GCL. 5. Prepared subgrade. The Phase III Surface Impoundment side slope liner system will consist of the following elements from top to bottom: 1. Primary 60 mil HDPE geomembrane (DST). Geocomposite (nonwoven geotextile on top and bottom heat bonded to a minimum 200-mil geonet core). Secondary 60 mil HDPE geomembrane (DST). 4. GCL. 5. Prepared subgrade or engineered fill.
