Site work and renovation of a civil project in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

PREQUALIFIED FIRMS ONLY. The work involves structural (concrete) repairs, application of corrosion resistant tank linings and replacement of the tank sludge collector mechanisms, including drives, at the Greater Nanaimo Pollution Control Centre (GNPCC) located at 4600 Hammond Bay Road in Nanaimo, BC. The purpose of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to solicit submissions from qualified firms to demonstrate their ability to participate in a multi-year, multi-disciplinary municipal wastewater treatment tank refit project currently being planned by the RDN. One detailed Request for Proposal (RFP), stemming from this RFQ, is anticipated to be issued in each year of the project as follows: 1. Follow safety procedures applicable to the services below, meeting or exceeding the requirements of the BC OH&S Regulation, for the benefit of both contractor employees and RDN employees at or in the vicinity of the work site; 2. Supply material for and complete miscellaneous minor tank repairs, including: a. Small structural steel support replacement, including painting of steel and installation of fasteners/anchor bolts where required; b. Repair or replacement of wooden baffles; c. Spot repair of cracks in concrete, using epoxy injection or other means specified by RDN; d. Spot repair of voids in concrete, using cementitious or other repair material specified by RDN; e. Spot repair of localized, heavily deteriorated concrete, using cementitious or other repair material specified by RDN; f. Renew elastomeric concrete joint sealant, including removal of old sealant and installation of new; g. Adhere to relevant guidelines and standards listed in this RFQ, including QA/QC requirements; h. Dispose of resulting debris. 3. Supply and install multiple test patches of selected chemically resistant concrete repair and lining systems, including: a. High or ultrahigh-pressure (HP WJ or UHP WJ) water blasting surface preparation to a pre-specified Concrete Surface Profile (CSP), as outlined in relevant guidelines and standards; b. Spot chipping surface preparation; c. Spot repair of voids in concrete, using cementitious or other repair material specified by RDN; d. Application of surface repair material options such as or similar to those listed in Appendix A; e. Application of top coat lining material options such as or similar to those listed in Appendix A; f. Adhere to relevant guidelines and standards listed in Appendix B of this RFQ, including QA/QC requirements; g. Dispose of resulting debris. 4. Remove and recycle/dispose of existing grit and primary sedimentation tank sludge collector mechanisms, including drives (lockout and electrical disconnection by Others); 5. Surface prepare tank wall concrete, using high or ultrahigh-pressure (HP WJ or UHP WJ) water blasting, chipping or other means identified in the applicable detailed scope of work, and dispose of resulting debris; 6. Apply surface repair material(s) to tank wall concrete, such as or similar to those listed in Appendix A; 7. Apply top coat lining material(s) to tank wall concrete, such as or similar to those listed in Appendix A; 8. Install new grit and primary sedimentation tank sludge collector mechanisms, including drives (electrical reconnection by Others); 9. Adhere to relevant guidelines and standards listed in Appendix B of this RFQ, including QA/QC requirements; 10. Clean up the work site on a daily basis and upon demobilization of work crews; 11. Other services, related or incidental to the above items, identified in detailed scope of work packages Bid values are undisclosed.
