In general, this project consists of performing general maintenance on all of the traffic signals, flashing beacons, street lighting, and selected other miscellaneous electrical devices that are under the jurisdiction of the County of Merced, Department of Public Works - Road Division. Proposals, in order to receive consideration, shall be made and submitted in accordance with the requirements and conditions set forth in the Request for Proposals dated January 25th, 2023 and any such Addenda thereto as may be issued prior to the submittal date. Partial or contingent proposals may be rejected at the discretion of the County. At the time of submitting the proposal, the Contractor shall have the following classification of Contractor license: C10 Electrical. The proposal of any Contractor who has previously violated the terms of Federal/State Labour Laws, and who has not been cleared of such violations, will not be considered. Also, any sub-contractor under him under the same circumstances will not be accepted for consideration. The Department of Public Works hereby notifies all applicants that it will affirmatively ensure that minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit proposals in response to this invitation and be considered for any contract to be entered into pursuant to this advertisement. Soffit Lighting: Soffit lighting shall be maintained according to the guidelines contained within Sections K.02.02, K.02.03 and K.02.07 of the Highway Maintenance Manual. The Scope of Work encompassed by the contract includes three main tasks: Maintenance, Repair, and Modification Traffic Signals: Traffic Signals shall be maintained according to the guidelines contained within Sections K.02.09, K.04.05 and K.04.09 of the Highway Maintenance Manual. The contractor shall report any observed timing or operational traffic signal problems to the Engineer as soon as possible. CONTRACT TERM: The Contractor selected shall be retained for a minimum three (3) year period, beginning on July 1st, 2023 through June 30, 2026. The County also reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to extend the term of the contract.
