he BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking proposals for Structural Construction Supervision Services for Project No.24913-0000 Ford Road to Tappen Valley Road. Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found in Sections 1, 5 and 6 of this RFQ. The Structural Construction Supervision assignment is to provide Ministry representation and quality assurance for the construction of the works. The Ministry's RISP category 01-63 Medium to Large Bridge Project helps define the assignment and section 5 of this RFQ. Based on the review of the RFQ Responses, The Province intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to three shortlisted Qualified Respondents. The Ministry intends to select one Respondent based on the evaluation of the RFP Responses, who may then be invited to enter into a Contract for provision of the services. Hwy.1 Ford Road to Tappen Valley Road-Structural Construction Supervision The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure's Provincial Structural Engineering Group is soliciting Request for Qualifications from consultants to provide Structural Project Supervision (as outlined in Section 5 Services) of the Ford Road to Tappen Valley Road Highway 1 expansion. It is anticipated that there will be one Major Works Contract for the Bridge, Grading and Paving works. The Structural Representative will primarily administer Section 4 (Structures) of the Major Works contract while the Grading and Paving works to be overseen by the Ministry Representation team lead by Provincial Field Services. The purpose of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to determine if there are qualified supervision companies (Respondents) interested in providing the services to carry out this assignment. Enquiries related to this RFQ including any requests for information or clarification may only be directed in writing to the Official Contact using the "enquiries" interface or the email address identified on the "opportunity details" menu tab, who (subject to the Enquiries Deadline, the preferred cut-off date and time for enquiries set out in the RFx general information section of the "overview" tab), will respond if time permits before the Closing Date and Time. Information obtained from any other source is not official and should not be relied upon. Enquiries and any responses providing new information will be recorded and posted to BC Bid or otherwise distributed to Respondents. Despite the foregoing, the Province may choose in its sole discretion not to respond, respond in whole or in part, or reformulate enquiries in whole or in part. The Province may in its sole discretion choose whether to post and such enquiries (as reformulated if reformulated) and responses to BC Bid or otherwise distribute to Respondents. Describes at a high level the goods, services and/or construction contemplated to be procured in any subsequent Solicitation (if any), that a Qualified Respondent that may become Contractor may provide, perform and be responsible for. More specific and additional details will be set out in the Solicitation, if any. While the Ministry reserves the right to vary the contemplated initial term and any extension term(s) of any Contract that may be issue from the Solicitation, it is presently contemplated that the initial term of the Contract will be 44 months, with extension options in favour of the Ministry. The Short-Listed Respondent who issuccessful in the subsequent RFP process will become the Consultant (subject to the successful fee negotiation of the Contract) and will be required to perform and be responsible for providing Project Supervision, and thus ensure that the construction is carried out and completed in accordance with the Construction Contract.
