This work consists of drilling consolidation grout holes in rock within the Eisenhower Tunnel supply air plenum for the purpose of consolidation grouting the rockmass surrounding the tunnel. The purpose of the consolidation grouting program is to decrease the overall permeability of the rockmass in the tunnel sections shown on the drawings. The consolidation grout holes will penetrate through both the permanent tunnel lining and initial tunnel support elements prior to penetrating the rockmass.
