The Coos Bay-North Bend Water Board is in the process of installing an upgraded water metering system. This new Hersey Automated Meter Reading (AMR) system replaces their manual read positive displacement meters. The Board has recently purchased AMR meters. Water meters, radio endpoints and associated wiring is provided by the Water Board. The Water Board has approximately 13,700 water meters throughout its system. Of these, approximately 850 have been replaced with the upgraded Hersey AMR meter through an initial AMR pilot program. This contract is to provide water meter installation services for the next phase of water meter changes and AMR installation. The project is a one phase project with a chance to renew for a second phase. The first phase of the project will be in the spring of 2023 to include installation of 1218 meters and AMR units. The successful proposer shall have potential for an additional renewal for late 2023/early 2024 installation of 1309 meters and AMR units. There will be no guarantee of additional work beyond the initial phase. Based on this information, the prospective contractor must respond to the proposal which identifies milestones for major service and task elements to accomplish the overall project. Estimated project time is approximately 1 month with work to commence in the summer of 2023. The Water Board desires to have the project complete August 30, 2023. Contractor shall meet the highest standards prevalent in the water utility industry. This project is a Public Improvement Project under Oregon law, and no person shall be employed for the Work as described herein in violation of any wage and hour laws and no person may be employed in violation of any provision of ORS 279C.520 and ORS 279C.540.
