The work to be done consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and incidentals as required by the Plans (Drawing Number 1149, Sheets 1 through 13), Specifications, and Contract Documents. The general items of work include variable depth cold milling of existing pavement; paving with asphalt rubber hot mix (ARHM) and conventional asphalt concrete; removal and replacement of curb and gutter; adjustment to the grade of manholes and valve covers; installation of traffic striping, marking, raised pavement markers, traffic signs and curb addresses (house numbers) painting; and miscellaneous appurtenant work. Clean up and leave in an operable and acceptable condition all the work and other items not mentioned that are required by the Plans and Specifications. Upon execution of the Contract, a written Notice to Proceed will be issued and the work shall commence within Fifteen (15) calendar days after the date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. All work shall be completed in its entirety within fifty (50) working days from the commencement date. All queries related to the Project shall be submitted electronically to the City Engineer at cityengineer@lcf.ca.gov no later than February 23, 2023. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, and to make awards in the interest of the City. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the bid opening. In the event the contractor did not complete the work within the above specified time, liquidated damages in the amount of Fifteen hundred Dollars ($1,500) per working day, as specified in the Special Conditions, shall be paid by the contractor to the City for each working day in excess of the specified time.
