Sealed Bids for the construction of the Electrical Improvements, Water System Improvements Project will be received, by the Village of Bethany. The Project for which the Work under the Contract Documents may be the whole or only a part is generally described as follows: An emergency ATS (automatic transfer switch) at the existing water plant generator for water plant Wells #1 and #4, emergency chlorine shutoff system at the water plant, interior dehumidification equipment at the water plant, an emergency generator and ATS (automatic transfer switch) at the Well #6 and #7 remote locations, and a new water treatment plant control panel and general electric work. The Project timeframe is 100 days and is intended to be constructed in Spring 2023 / Summer 2023. Representatives of the Owner and Engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price or lump sum basis, with bid items as indicated in the Bid Form. The project engineer for the project is Greg Gustafson, P.E., ggustafson @bernsclancy.com. printed Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office either via in-person pick-up or via mail, upon Issuing Office's receipt of payment for the Bidding Documents. The nonrefundable cost of printed Bidding Documents is $100 per set, payable to "Berns, Clancy and Associates". Upon Issuing Office's receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via FedEx. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the prospective Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statues mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All listed iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and construction materials. The De Minimis Components, Minor Components and Pig Iron waivers apply to this contract. Owner: Village of Bethany.
