Sealed Bids for the construction of the Detention Tank Replacement, Water System Improvements Project will be received, by the Village of Bethany, at the office of the Berns, Clancy and Associates, P.C., 405 East Main Street, Urbana, Illinois 61802. The Project for which the Work under the Contract Documents may be the whole or only a part is generally described as follows: The manufacturing of an entirely new 12-foot diameter, 16-foot-tall, 13,000-gallon welded stainless steel detention tank structure with aerator attachment/support, fittings, and modifications and all necessary appurtenances, a new concrete foundation, all new raw watermain site piping, fittings and modifications to connect the new detention tank to the raw water supply line, the placement of the new detention tank and existing aerator, new blower and motor, required electrical and control work, the demolition and removal of the existing detention tank, foundation, and unneeded site piping. Also to be provided shall be the abandonment of Water Well #1 inside the water plant building and the epoxy floor coating of the concrete flooring slab inside the water plant building as shown. The Project timeframe is 180 days and is intended to be constructed in the Spring 2023 / Summer 2023 with all work completed by September 30, 2023. Representatives of the Owner and the Engineer will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are urged to attend. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price or lump sum basis, with bid items as indicated in the Bid Form. Only Plan Holders of Record that register and obtain documents from the Engineer may submit bids for this project. printed Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office either via in-person pick-up or via mail, upon Issuing Office's receipt of payment for the Bidding Documents. The nonrefundable cost of printed Bidding Documents is $100 per set, payable to "Berns, Clancy and Associates". Upon Issuing Office's receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via FedEx. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the prospective Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. All listed iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and construction materials.
