Site work for a water / sewer project in Volo, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project is located in the Village of Volo. Fish Lake Road from Belvidere Road to Big Hollow School, Molidor Road from Kelly Lane to Big Hollow School. This project consists of the furnishing and installation of approximately 12,000 lineal feet of 16-inch diameter water main along the west side of Fish Lake Road from IL Rte. 120 to Molidor Rd. and along the north side of Molidor from Fish Lake Road to Kelly Lane and 1,000 lineal feet of 8-Inch diameter water main connecting the Big Hollow School campus near the intersection of Molidor and Fish Lake road. The main is to be installed via horizontal directional drilling methods. The project includes three (3) auger and jack crossings. The work also includes the installation of all water main appurtenances such as valves, hydrants, fittings and service lines as well as restoration, testing and chlorination of the water main all for a project that is complete and in-place and as shown on the contract drawings. "Any contract or contracts awarded under this invitation for bids are expected to be funded in part by a loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA). Neither the State of Illinois nor any of its departments, agencies, or employees is or will be a party to this invitation for bids or any resulting contract. The procurement will be subject to regulations contained in the Procedures for Issuing Loans from the Public Water Supply Loan Program (35IAC Part 662), the Davis-Bacon Act (40 USC 276a through 276a-5) as defined by the United States Department of Labor, the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act (30 ILCS 570), and the "Use of American Iron and Steel" requirements as contained in Section 436 of H.R. 3547, The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014. This procurement is also subject to the loan recipient's policy regarding the increased use of disadvantaged business enterprises. The loan recipient's policy requires all bidders to undertake specified affirmative efforts at least sixteen (16) days prior to bid opening. The policy is contained in the specifications. Bidders are also required to comply with the President's Executive Order No. 11246, as amended. The requirements for bidders and contractors under this order are explained in 41 CFR 60-4." This work shall be for the removal of trees interfering with the construction of the water main improvements that cannot reasonably be maintained as healthy and undamaged during the course of the work. 3. Trees greater than 6" in diameter as measured according to Article 201.10.b.1. shall be considered for payment; Trees and brush less than 6" in diameter removed for the purposes of construction shall not be paid for under this pay item, but shall be considered included in the cost of the contract under the MOBILIZATION detailed Special Provision section and according to Section 201 of the IDOT Standard Specifications. BASIS OF PAYMENT: 1. The work for this pay item will be paid per Inch of Unit Diameter, despite the size indicated on the Plans at the Contract Unit Price for TREE REMOVAL.
