Site work for a civil project in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and road / highway.

https://theconstructionbroadsheet.com/army-corps-awards-ferrovial-b-flood-risk-project-in-puerto-rico-p2232-175.htm The United States Army Corps of Engineers Caribbean District has awarded Ferrovial Construccion PR LLC a more than $1 billion contract for the Rio Puerto Nuevo Flood Control Project (Supplemental Contract Three) in San Juan Puerto Rico, the Department of War announced Thursday. As part of the contract, project officials said, Ferrovial will make channel bottom and wall improvements. The company's estimated completion date is April 28, 2032. Work in the Lower Rio Piedras will see widening of the river from 80 feet to more than 160 feet and construction of six-feet-wide concrete channel walls reinforced with 100-feet-deep, pile-driven shafts. The full $1.6 billion Río Puerto Nuevo Flood Risk Management Project aims to make improvements to Puerto Rico's environment and infrastructure in order to reduce flooding in the Capital city of San Juan and nearby Guaynabo, according to the Army Corps. This project includes: Deepening and widening the Río Piedras and its tributaries so that water and debris is able to flow more efficiently downstream to San Juan Bay; Rebuilding bridges to remove obstructions, reduce flood risk and meet the most recent seismic requirements; Upgrading related water, sewer and electrical utilities to the latest engineering standards in order to better withstand storms; Replanting landscape and creating community spaces like pedestrian and bike paths after construction is complete. In October, the Army Corps' Caribbean District awarded a $57.4 million contract to Novel Construction LLC for work on the $744 million Caño Martín Peña (CMP) Ecosystem Restoration Project at the San Juan Bay National Estuary. A lack of adequate stormwater and sewage systems have resulted in the discharge of raw sewage and other debris into the CMP channel, exposing area residents to contaminated water and pollutants. As part of its work, Novel will perform site development for a material management area; prepare aquatic disposal pits;create a 3,000 meter access channel; build bridge fenders at Moscoso Bridge; dredge one 450-meter transition channel and another 900-meter main channel with steel sheet pile walls with concrete cap and provide Barbosa Bridge rip rap scour protection. Novel is expected to be complete with its work in 2029. ------------------------------------------------------------- June 18, 2025: Proposal due date has been extended to July 29, 2025 by 4:00 PM AST.
