Site work and paving for a civil project in Ketchikan, Alaska. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Ketchikan is requesting sealed bids for the Tongass Sewer Force Main Rehabilitation Phase II, Contract No. 23-25 consisting of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, supervision, and other facilities necessary to complete the Work set forth in the Contract Drawings and Specifications, and terms of the Contract successfully. The Work that is presented in the Bid Proposal for this Contract generally consists of approximately 1,220 LF of 16-inch HDPE sliplining and associated cleaning, CCTV inspection, annular space grouting, temporary bypass piping, excavation and backfill, asphalt paving and traffic control, complying with all State and Federal permits and coordinating work with the Owner. The Contractor must commence the performance of this Contract upon Notice to Proceed as set forth in the General Conditions of Contract and must diligently perform under the Contract and Complete the Work without interruption through final completion of the Work for the Project. The Contractor must achieve Substantial Completion of the Work for the Project by no later than May 1, 2024. The Contractor must pay the Owner the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) for each day of unexcused delay beyond the date set forth above for Substantial Completion. The payment of any required sum for unexcused Delay pursuant to this section by the Contractor is considered to be Liquidated Damages for Delay representing an estimate of Delay damages likely to be sustained by the Owner, estimated at the time of executing this Contract and not as a penalty. The Contractor's payment of any Liquidated Damages to the Owner are in addition to and not exclusive of any other remedies available to the Owner under the terms of this Contract or the Contract Documents. This project has been funded wholly or in part by the United States Environmental Protection Agency under assistance agreement CG-02J26401-0 to City of Ketchikan. Minority Owned Businesses (MBEs) and Women Owned Businesses (WBEs) are encouraged to respond. A certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the form included in the Contract Documents, payable to the City of Ketchikan in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total bid amount shall accompany each bid, as evidence of good faith and as a guarantee that if awarded the Contract, the bidder will execute the required Form of Agreement, and give the bonds and other instruments as required. The successful Bidder, simultaneously with submittal of the form of Agreement set forth in the Contract Documents to the City, will be required to submit performance bonds and payment bonds, and in the amounts specified in the Information for Bidders and the Contract Documents, secured from a surety company authorized to transact business within the State of Alaska nd satisfactory to the City, and on the bond forms contained in the Contract Documents, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price.
