Renovation of an educational facility in New Paltz, New York. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The scope of work for this project consists of modifications at the main and guest bathrooms at the Presidents Residence. The main features of the work shall include, but are not limited to the following: Major work includes: At Main Bathroom: Removing existing shower system, along with gypsum walls at this area, countertop with integral sinks and faucets, wall hung medicine and lighting fixture cabinet, raised tile step with jacuzzi tub, along with associated tiled wing walls enclosing tub, all wall tile surrounding tub area, removing and modification of all associated plumbing supply and drain lines complete, floor tile complete, along with temporary removal of toilet for floor tile work, and removal of existing door and frame between sink and toilet area. Providing and installing new double door closet with adjustable shelving, solid countertop with surface mounted sinks and faucets, wood framed gypsum wall under counter to conceal existing plumbing supply and drain lines, surface mounted LED mirror, walk-in shower with premanufactured base and drain, wall tile around shower area, shower floor tile, rain shower and wand system with control valve and drain assembly, sliding shower door system, floor tile throughout, painting throughout, modification of plumbing for new shower, wood door and frame between sink and toilet area, and reinstallation of toilet. At Guest Bathroom: Removing existing wood door with door frame and associated moldings, countertop with integral sinks and faucets and drain assemblies, base cabinet systems, mirror and wall tile at door removal area, and modification of all associated plumbing supply and drain lines complete. Store coat hook rack and door hardware until reinstallation. Providing and installing new wider wood door with door frame, ADA Compliant vanity with engineered stone countertop and sink, faucet, ADA Compliant grab bars with secure mount installation system at toilet area, freestanding double door linen cabinet, painting as noted, modification of plumbing supply and drain at sink area, and reinstallation of door hardware, coat rack, and moldings. Adherence to phasing of work and completion date as stated on drawings and as per below. Contractor shall provide and maintain full access and egress in and out of building entry locations, parking lot, and all non-work areas. Contractor, Contractors employees, and all sub-contractors to Contractor shall park employee vehicle(s) in the College approved location during all times of work, no exceptions. Providing all labor, supervision, project coordination, tools, equipment, demolition, legal removals, and the legal recycling, disposal, and reporting of all construction waste for the renovation of spaces and work. Contractor shall be fully responsible to review all existing conditions, all dimensions, all existing items to remain, all material quantities necessary in coordination with new work indicated or shown prior to bidding. Contractor shall provide daily project clean-up of debris created by the Work, restoration of existing adjacent areas disturbed by this contract work, and Contractor shall leave work area in a ready to use condition without the College having to clean any areas of work where Contractor performed work. All work shall be completed in accord with applicable manufacturers materials standards, applicable NY State Building Code requirements, and applicable Federal & State regulation. Contractor shall follow and adhere to the Campus Impairment Program, and especially in regard to any welding work, and Contractor shall not disrupt the existing campus fire alarm system during the work, no exceptions. All dumpsters and storage trailers shall have solid wood members placed under wheels of these items to protect existing conditions, and dumpsters shall be placed on asphalt paving, unless approved in advance by College. Locations of these items must also be approved by College before any deliveries or installation, no exception. ALTERNATES No alternates. Project Schedule The project shall commence upon award of contract, but actual construction shall not begin until June 1, 2023. Completion of all construction Work shall be no later than June 30, 2023, no exceptions. An additional 30 days will be added beyond the construction work period to allow for administrative paperwork, such applications for payment and closeout materials. Time is of the essence. Work shall commence immediately upon execution of Owner/Contractor Agreement and shall progress to substantial completion as stated above and as per the Contract Agreement Article III Time of Performance Section 3.01 Commencement, Prosecution and Completion of Work. With their Bid Documents, Contractor shall submit a preliminary construction schedule to the College indicating how they can complete the work by the substantial completion dates stated above. Benchmark dates for major parts of the work as referenced with the specifications shall be listed in the schedule. Reference Section 22 - CPM Schedule for further information. The Contractor shall employ sufficient trained, skilled work crews and provide adequate equipment and work crews as necessary to comply with the Project Schedule and complete the Work during this construction period. There is no site visit. Bids must be submitted in duplicate in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid. It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy. The State University of New York reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Minority Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 22% Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 8% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 6%
