Site work and new construction of a medical facility in Collingwood, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 563,786-square-foot, 132-bed medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.
Design Build-Finance for the construction of a new hospital building of the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital; approx. 563,786 sq ft. Once opened, the new hospital will include: -Increased capacity, including up to 132 new beds with 98 total inpatient beds and an additional 34 beds to meet the community's future needs; -Enhanced infection prevention and control measures to ensure the health and safety of all patients; -Expanded access to key services, including intensive care, emergency, diagnostic imaging and operating suites. TIMELINE: Project planning is ongoing; full scope has yet to be finalized. Fundraising is underway with the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation. The ministry will work with Collingwood General and Marine Hospital to complete detailed planning and design for this project. RFQ for Design-Build-Finance is expected April to June 2027. Invited Request For Proposals to the prequalified firms is tentatively scheduled October to December 2027. Contract execution is currently scheduled for October to December 2028. *Project has been estimated at approx. 1 billion. *To date, the province has contributed approx. 111 million towards the project.
