Site work and new construction of a medical facility in Collingwood, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.
Construction of a new hospital building of the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. TIMELINE: Since 2016 the owner has been working with the Ontario Ministry of Health capital branch through the master plan and programming to outline future programs and services for a new or expanded hospital for the region. The first stage of planning was approved August 2021 at which time the owner received funding for future designs and the functional program proposal to further identify the various functions of the new hospital. The second planning phase will take between 12 to 18 months. The project will be delivered through design-Build-Finance. Schedules for working drawings would be determined by the awarded Consortia. An initial Request For Proposals from Planning, Design and Compliance Consortia is expected between January and March 2025. The Request For Quotations for Design-Build Consortia is expected summer/fall 2027 pending funding approvals. Construction start is expected spring/summer, 2028.
