The project consists generally of removing existing curb ramps; installing new ADA-compliant curb ramps with detectable warning surfaces; removing and installing new pavement legends, traffic striping, and markings; installing green bike lane markings; installing roadside signs; and application of delineators at Schilling Elementary School and Newark Junior High School. The City reserves the right to increase or decrease the work quantity from the project, if necessary, to stay within funding limitations at the sole discretion of the City Engineer. It is the City's intent to award the contract for this work on May 11, 2023. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A or C-8 California Contractors license at the time of the bid opening. The successful Bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond. Items of work in conjunction with this project are included in the proposal.
