Bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid price shall be submitted with the bid. Additional post-award bonding requirements for this project include a Performance Bond, a Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Maintenance Bond. In general, the Project involves the 2023 Construction of about thirty-one (31) ADA Handicap Ramp Corners along four (4) Street Projects within Whitehall Township. 1) Minnesota Drive (8) ADA Ramps - (from Midway Road to California Avenue) - Fullerton Area. 2) Wood Street (3) ADA Ramps - (at North 2nd Avenue intersection) - West Catasauqua Area. 3) Franklin Street (4) ADA Ramps - (at Front Street Intersection) - Fullerton Area. 4) Andrew Drive (9) ADA Ramps - (from Presidential Drive to Avery Lane) - Peachtree Townes - Fullerton Area. The Total Estimated Concrete Curb and Sidewalk Replacement Quantities for all four (4) Street Projects is approx. 300 Ft. of Concrete Curbing and approx. 2,000 Sq. Ft. of Concrete Sidewalks. The Contractor is required to pay current Federal Davis-Bacon Wage Rates. If the projects wage rates are modified ten (10) or more days prior to the bid opening, an addendum will be issued to each prospective bidder. Should an updated version be applicable, it will be faxed or emailed as an Addendum to each prospective bidder. The Contractor is also required to contact and solicit Services from Minority and Women Business Enterprises (MBE/WBE) and document their solicitation and commitment on the Federal Form DCA BHD 168 Statement Form with their Bid Submission. Bidders shall have at least five (5) years past experience in ADA Ramps concrete curb and sidewalk work performed under or similar to CDBG Federal ADA Requirements and Provisions. The successful bidder is expected to be able to start work in May 2023 and shall complete all work by August 25, 2023. Liquidated damages of $250 per calendar day will be assessed to the Contractor for any HC Ramps that are not completed by the August 25, 2023, completion date until its satisfactory completion. Whitehall Township reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether any aspect of a bid satisfactorily meets the criteria established in this Request for Bid, to accept either in whole or in part, any one bid or combination of bids, to waive or permit the curing of any immaterial defects informalities or irregularities in a bid as permitted by law, to reject any or all bids with or without cause, and to take any action which the Township deems appropriate. The Township intends to select that bid(s) which, in the sole opinion of the Township is/are most favorable and in the best interests of the citizens of Whitehall Township.
