Project Summary and Bid Document Information: This project generally consists of one project A involving replacement from clay to HDPE/PVC Questions: All questions regarding this bid should go to Erik Sagel, Wastewater Collection Superintendent at (970) 542-3911. Questions must be in writing and can be e-mailed to erik.sagel@cityoffortmorgan.com. The cut-off date and time for questions is March 29, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. It is the responsibility of the prospective bidders to contact Erik Sagel to verify receipt of questions. Based upon such inquiry, the City may choose to issue an Addendum before and/or after the mandatory pre-bid meeting. Opening Date: The opening will not be a public bid opening as it will be subject to staff review of costs, schedule, options, qualifications, possible short list and/or interviews SCOPE OF WORK The work primarily consists of: 1. Project A - Between Euclid St. and West St. from South of W. Kiowa Avenue to W. Platte Avenue Sewer Main Replacement: Construction of approximately 1,471-feet of 10-inch diameter HDPE sewer line between Euclid St. and West St. from North of W. Kiowa Avenue to W. Platte Avenue to replace an outdated 8-inch clay tile pipe mainline. The project also includes pavement and concrete removal, traffic control, installing service taps, fittings, service connection reinstatement and miscellaneous appurtenances. a. Contractor shall be responsible for the removal of concrete and asphalt in areas where necessary to perform the required work by means of rotomill operations or saw cut and removal and shall place approved road base to provide for traffic upon completion of work. b. The Contractor shall be responsible for the installation of sewer main, sewer taps and various fittings with minimal excavation utilizing pipe bursting and/or boring. c. The Contractor shall be responsible for all applicable traffic control, per MUTCD standards. Part of this project will be located in State right of way that will require additional traffic control. d. The contractor shall be responsible for reconnecting new main installed to existing DR35 piping that has been located by the City. e. Contractor will be responsible for locating and excavating around existing utilities and services located in the roadway. f. The sewer taps being reinstated shall be 6" wye taps with reduction fittings for any 4" existing services within the project unless specifically noted otherwise. g. All fittings and connections to the main including taps and various other appurtenances shall be watertight and root intrusion resistant. h. Temporary sewer shall be provided to residences and businesses during construction as needed. Proposed procedures for providing temporary sewer service to all affected properties, and proposed notification procedures for shut downs and emergencies must be included as part of this submittal. i. Temporary sewer bypass may be required for extended shutdowns. Proposed procedures for temporary bypass must be included as part of the submittal. j. For unforeseen sewer services encountered, the Contractor shall notify the City Representative immediately.
