Site work and new construction of a civil project in Blandon, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of July 26, 2023, the project has been awarded, however, a timeline for construction has not been confirmed. The consideration of the apparent low Bidder will be at the regularly scheduled Township meeting to be held at 11:00 A.M. prevailing time on May 18, 2023. The project generally consists of the construction of a new water treatment facility building and well house buildings for Well 6 & 7 for the Authority's public water system complete with associated piping, monitoring equipment, site work, etc. located along Main Street (S.R. 0073) in Blandon, PA 19510. Contract A – General/Mechanical Contract B – Plumbing Contract C – HVAC Contract D – Electrical All bidders must submit bid security in the amount of ten percent [10%]. All Contracts exceeding $10,000.00 shall be performed in compliance with Executive Order 11246, entitled, "Equal Employment Opportunity," as amended by Executive Order 11375 and as supplemented in Department of Labor regulations (41 CFR Part 60). In addition, all Contractors shall comply with the "Nondiscrimination/Sexual Harassment Clause" as required by Pennsylvania Executive Order 2016-05. The successful BIDDER will be required to execute the Agreement, furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond on the respective forms provided in the Contract Documents, and provide evidence of insurance coverage as required by the Contract Documents. The wages paid on this project will be subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act approved August 15, 1961, P.L. 987 as amended and supplemented. The Pennsylvania Human Relations Act of 1955, P.L. 744, No. 222, as amended June 25, 1997, by Act 34 of 1997, 43 P.S. 951-963, shall apply to this contract. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the contract documents must be paid on this project, and that employees and applicants for employment shall not be discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap. The Bidder and all subcontractors must be qualified for the type of project work specified in order to bid the project, and prequalification's must be submitted by the Bidder and all subcontractors. The qualification documentation listed in Article 3 in the Instructions to Bidders must be submitted with the bid. Bidders should refer to provisions of federal and state statutes, rules and regulations dealing with prevention of environmental pollution and the preservation of public, natural resources that affect the project. Any BID received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. No BID may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the above specified date for receiving, opening, and reading of BIDS, except as specifically may be provided by law. Maidencreek Township Authority reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids, and to delete any item or portion of an item without affecting the bids on the remaining items or portion of items. The above invitation to Bidders is made for the benefit of Maidencreek Township Authority, Berks County, PA and no rights shall be deemed to accrue to any person making a Bid by reason of the submission of any bid hereunder or by waiver or non-enforcement of any provision of requirement of this invitation. Any BID may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of BIDS or authorized postponement thereof. Clarification Deadline 5/9/2023 12:00 Pm
