Renovation of a residential development in Parker Dam, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
Project Description - The work consists of various residential improvements, including but not limited to, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, doors, windows, updating lighting and electrical components, exterior stucco patch, drywall, paint interior and exterior, fence repair, roof repair, HVAC, abatement of materials containing asbestos and lead, and other appurtenant work as directed by Metropolitan's representative based on time and materials. The initial contract will be a not-to-exceed amount of $250,000. The bidder shall have a California contractor license, classification A and/or B or B-2 at the time of submitting the bid and have experience in residential construction and remodeling. The Contractor shall be an EPA-certified renovation firm in accordance with Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 745, subpart E. In addition, the entity performing asbestos abatement shall be either the prime contractor with a California Contractors State License Board issued ASB certification or a subcontractor with a C-22 license. A subcontractor having a different "C" license may perform abatement work if it possesses an ASB certification and the abatement work is associated with said "C" license. The successful bidder shall furnish a labor and material payment bond, in accordance with the contract documents. Metropolitan has adopted a policy encouraging the participation of Small Business Enterprise and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (SBE/DVBE) firms in its contracts. Contractor shall use "reasonable efforts" to utilize the services of SBE/DVBE's at the participation level of 25%.
