The general scope of the work includes but is not limited to Removal and replacement of low slope roof insulation, membrane and miscellaneous flashing. Roof Replacement of RBD Library & Mell Classroom building and installation of fall protection A certified check or bid bond payable to Auburn University in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds will be required at the signing of the Contract. Remove the existing modified bitumen roofing assembly, including modified bitumen cap sheet, felts, roof insulation, light weight insulating concrete, asphalt, base sheet, and bituminous flashings down to the existing roof decks at Roof Areas B1, B2, and B3, and discard. 2. Remove the existing metal flashings including coping, counterflashing, lead flashing, and other metal flashings, and discard. 3. Remove existing downspout splash blocks and store for reuse. 4. Remove existing pipe flashing including lead flashings and pitch pans and discard. 5. Remove the existing primary roof drains to include the roof drain bowls, strainers, clamping rings, and drain leader to the extent necessary, and discard. 6. Remove all abandoned penetrations, and discard. Close associated openings in the roof deck. 7. Furnish and install new primary roof drains to include under-deck clamps, drain receivers, drain bowls, clamping rings, and strainers, as specified herein. 8. Furnish and install a new vapor retarder, isocyanuate insulation, tapered roof insulation, cover board, and a new modified bitumen roofing system, as specified herein. 9. Reinstall stored splash blocks. Furnish and install new splash blocks at downspout locations where existing splash blocks are missing. 10. Furnish and install a new fall protection system at Roof Area B1 to include a horizontal lifeline and anchors, as specified herein. 11. Furnish and install new metal flashings to include gravel-stop fascia, coping, expansion joint covers, and counterflashing, as specified herein. 12. Furnish and install new polymethyl-methacrylate (PMMA) flashing at roof drains, pipe flashings, base flashings, and access stair penetration through roof membrane, as specified herein. 13. Furnish and install walkway pads at locations identified on plans, as specified herein. 14. Furnish and install any miscellaneous items, as specified herein.
