The City of Independence is bidding a project to install customer service glass windows or laminated polycarbonate sections to provide a level of separation from the customers. The City would request this to be quoted in each option. The service counter is approximately 28 feet in width & 44" from counter to the ceiling. We would be looking for 8 approximate 42" panel sections. Four sections would contain glass/polycarbonate with a pass through and a speaker grill. One would be a solid pane of glass/polycarbonate with no openings. Three of these can be solid panels with a brown tone finish. These will not need to be bullet proof panels. An option for bullet resistant may be considered. Deadline for questions is 5:00 p.m. local time on May 8, 2023 Please submit all questions regarding this Invitation to Bid online Licensed businesses operating from a physical address in the City of Independence for a minimum of six (6) months when quality, service and other terms of the purchases are equal to or better than the low bid. The local business shall be given a preference of ten percent (10%) over the low bid, provided that the difference between the low bid and the local bid does not exceed thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.00) maximum. It is the responsibility of the contractor to communicate changes to the City when they occur. Any notice given in connection with a contract shall be given in writing and delivered either to the duly authorized representative by email, by hand, or by certified mail return receipt requested to the contractors' address. Any party may change its notice address by giving notice of the change in accordance with this section.
