The Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake & Sandy (District) owns treatment, conveyance, and storage facilities to provide drinking water to over 400,000 residents within the Salt Lake Valley. The District includes a state-certified laboratory at which it runs tests for both the District and its member cities. The District wishes to procure a new Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry unit (ICPMS) for its lab. The previous ICP-MS unit was an Elan 9000. All Suppliers meeting the requirements of this Request for Proposals are invited to provide a proposal. Procurement of an ICP-MS unit is anticipated for fiscal year 2024 (July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024). Time is of the essence in delivery and installation of the unit. The selected Supplier shall be responsible to deliver the purchased unit and services within the agreed timeframe. Delivery shall be to the Little Cottonwood Water Treatment Plant located at 3430 East Danish Road in Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84093. Supplier selection will occur shortly thereafter, with purchase anticipated following the Districts board meeting on June 12, 2023. The unit must be able to run EPA Method 200.8: Determination of Trace Elements in Waters and Wastes by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry for analysis of drinking water samples to detect and measure metals (see attachment). The ICP-MS unit must also include the following: Autosampler Installation and start-up Spare parts Warranty and service contract / maintenance agreement Water-air chiller Windows software (PC to be supplied by District) The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any informality in a Bid, and to make awards in the interest of the Owner. All WORK shall be completed by February 12, 2024. Time is of the essence.
